First, you enter the information. Statpool does not connect to the league's web site so you will need to enter it.
Second, there is a required amount of information that is needed to do the calculations. This is what normally appears on the score sheet. However, you do not have to calculate the results or points from the match since Statpool takes care of that.
Third, there are additional items you can enter which are considered optional. It's to help with improving player performance. It can help identity areas where a lower skilled player needs to focus on or help a higher skill level recognize why he/she lost a match.
Once the data is entered it can also be edited if you need to make a correction. Entering a match takes only a couple minutes and we have tried to make it as easy as possible.
The data is stored within our database. You can access the information for as long as the account is active. Other people who use StatPool will not be able to see what you have entered for a player so everything is kept separate. We do summarize the information to calculate averages for skill levels but only the summary results are available to others on the system.
The summary results provide an average of how a player should perform. The more information entered, the more accurrate the data becomes. This helps with things like average scores of matches, average innings, etc. which helps you get a picture of a player when compared to others at that skill level.
